Two films went on a big Premiere this last week: Universal Pictures’ action-thriller “Miami Vice” and 20th Century Fox’s teen-comedy “John Tucker Must Die.” “Miami Vice” opens July 28 while “John Tucker Must Die” opens the following weekend, August 4.

Universal Pictures' latest release “Miami Vice” stars Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell. Foxx plays Miami cop Ricardo Tubbs, urbane and dead smart, who lives with Bronx-born intel analyst Trudy (Naomie Harris). Both are working as undercover, transporting drug loads into South Florida, to identify a group responsible for three murders. Sonny Cricket (Farrell), also a maverick officer working on the same project gets romantically linked with Isabella (Gong Li), a Chinese-Cuban wife of an arms and drugs trafficker.

At the Premiere held in Westwood, frenzied fans wildly shouts to stars on the loose at the big red carpet. From the movie, Director Michael Mann, Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx side by side posed for photographers. Chinese movie icon Gong Li also wowed the crowd with her printed outfit. Caught with a fashionable outfit was Michelle Rodriguez (who talked with former S.W.A.T. co-star Colin Farrell unmindful of everyone). Other big stars who attended were Tyrese, Lawrence Fishburne, Bret Ratner, Carrie Ann Inaba, Garcelle Beauvais, Peter Bert, Regina King, Shaquille O’Neal, Bobby Brown, and many others.

20th Century Fox’s “John Tucker Must Die” brought along a group of cheerleaders to cheer up hunks who paraded onstage for the “John Tucker” contest in front of Chinese Mann’s Theatre during its World Premiere last Tuesday. Director Betty Thomas, and stars from the film Jesse Metcalfe, Ashanti, Arielle Kebbel (who tagged along his cute brother Christian), Penn Badgely, Brittany Snow, and Fatso Fasano attended. Sophia Bush, also in the cast, was not able to make it. In this comedy film, when three popular girls discovered they are all dating the same stud, they decided to plan revenge, with the help of a new girl in town.
