LOS ANGELES, CA – ITVFest (www.itvfest.org ), the nation’s leading festival for independently produced, original television pilots and Web series, announces the fifth annual Independent Television Festival, which features the broadest and most diverse programming lineup to date.

This year’s ITVFest will be held at Laemmle's Sunset 5, July 30th-August 5, with the Opening Night Red Carpet Gala planned for July 29. ITVFest submissions have tripled since the organizations’ first outing in 2006, including entries from around the globe. In addition to viewing the 53 selections at the ITVFest 2010, guests can attend a variety of daily themed panels about the specific processes of developing television pilots and Web series, comprised of Hollywood’s leading voices in the industry.

Emmy-nominated actress (“Six Feet Under”) Illeana Douglas will be the recipient of the ITVFest 2010 “Innovator Award” for exemplifying innovated stature in the television and Web industry through out her illustrious career. The award will be presented to Douglas at the Opening Night Gala on July 29. Past honorees include Kevin Pollak of Picture This and “Kevin Pollak's Chat Show”, Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant of “Reno 911!” as well as Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney from “It’s Always
Sunny in Philadelphia.”

“ITVFest was conceived to provide talented artists with an opportunity to showcase their work and gain notoriety through their independent television efforts,” said A.J. Tesler, ITVFest Executive Director. “Our fifth
year is the biggest to date with close to 300 submissions. We’re seeing a significant growth in the Web series category, which accounts for 70 percent of this year’s selections, so it’ll be interesting to monitor this emerging medium and how it will affect people’s preference as a leading entertainment platform. We also are very excited to have many studio executives and talent share their love of independent content as both
participants and audience attendees.”

Pilot-makers showcased at ITVFest have gone on to great successes with leading entertainment companies: licensed by Sony; script deals with NBC; Web deals with Atom.com; development deals at Starz as well as
with major production companies; and representation from agencies such as UTA and 3 Arts. The impressive list of established actors, directors, producer, and writers pilots involved with this year’s selections include James Denton (“Desperate Housewives”), John Schneider (“90210” and “Smallville”), Jaime Kennedy (Scream), John Larroquette (“Boston Legal” and “Night Court”), Jeffrey Tambor (“Arrested Development”), Craig Mumms Grant (“Oz”), George Rainsford (“Waking the Dead”), Julie Mond (“General Hospital”), Jere Burns (“Surviving Suburbia” and “Dear John”), Michael Cudlitz (“Southland”), Tara Summers (“Damages” and “Boston Legal”), Sam Page (“Desperate Housewives” and “Mad Men”), Johana
