LOS ANGELES, CA -- The Hollywood Cure for Pain red carpet gala kicked-off its first musical event last November 7t, 2007 to raise awareness on people suffering for chronic pain disorders.

The event, held at the LEVEL 3 on Hollywood and Highland, featured musical performances from award winning musicians: #1 Billboard dance/club artist Pepper Mashay, Grammy winner Val Watson (Club Nouveau), reality TV star Marcus Foy (celebrity rap) with special guest, BT Chart toppers Fawn and Vincent Covello, Gigi Mackenzie (daughter of the famous Jazz singer Gisele Mackenzie, star Hollywood Walk of Fame), and an all star band with Bob Malone, Dee Snider's cousin (David Snider) and Venice legend Slavin David & David Botkin (Former Polygram Records, Billboard charts). Celebrity guest appearances by Bobby Trendy, cast members from Tila Tequila, Janice Dickinson Modeling and Survival of the Richest reality television shows.Fashion show by Laguna Beach Jean company. Hosted by James Bartholet of LA Nightlife.

Board of directors includes the following honorary celebrity members and spokespersons: award winning actress/director Elle Travis, George Katt (2007 award winning actor), actress Jennifer Sciole, and Fawn (whose song “Oneday” with BT raised over 5 million dollars for families affected by HIV). Plus size celebrity Cher Rue and BBW icon is also an active member of the board. Bobby Trendy (The Anna Nicole Show) is also a celebrity spokesperson.

Hollywood Cure for Pain is a movement of people in the entertainment industry to help raise awareness and find a cure for people that suffer from various pain disorders. Approximately 50-75 million Americans suffer from persistent chronic pain. Many are unable to work and even perform basic daily living activities. Estimated loss of productivity costs to the U.S. economy range from 60-100 billion dollars per year. Chronic pain manifests itself in 70% of all cancer patients, HIV, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, sciatica, fibromyalgia, back pain, ALS, post stroke, underrepresented rare pain disorders (such as erythromelalgia), central pain syndrome (post stroke pain) and numerous other conditions. A 2001 survey in the Lancet determined that more than half of 500 terminally ill patients still experienced moderate to severe pain.

Hollywood Cure For Pain’s logo was created by Mary Ouimette-Kinney (the artist that recently collaborated with Meatloaf).
