Thirty-Three contestants vie for Mr. Asia USA 2008

Los Angeles, CA – Thirty-three contestants will vie for the Mr. Asia USA 2008 title, the highlight of the upcoming fourth annual fund-raising gala-dinner, “The Emerald Night 2008” which will be held at the Quiet Canon (901 Via San Clemente, Montebello, California). Hosted by the Kasetsart University Alumni Association of USA, a non-profit organization aims to help the AIDS Temple in Thailand.

The competition will consist of casual wear, swimsuit, and formal wear categories. Ten finalists will be selected and eight titles will be awarded. The winner of Mr. Asia-USA will receive $1,500 cash prize, crown, a trophy and a year of acting classes worth $7,500 with John Michael Studio. First and second runner-ups will receive $700 and $600, respectively.

In addition to the Mr. Asia-USA title and the runner-ups winners will also be selected for Super Model, Super Star, Mr. Photogenic, Mr. Humanity and Mr. Popularity categories, each to receive $500.

The event will also include The Oriental Light Textiles of Asia, a fashion show of a contemporary costume from various Asian Pacific countries featuring glamorous garments inspired by different ancient textiles civilizations in Asia such as India, Indonesia, China, Japan, Vietnam, Korea, Nepal-Tibetan, Laos and Thailand. The segment will be hosted by Rattana and Steve Arnold, last year’s winner of Mr. Asia-USA – Mr. Photogenic and 2nd runner-up.
