DESPICABLE ME to have its World Premiere at Los Angeles Film Festival 2010
UNIVERSAL PICTURES and the LOS ANGELES FILM FESTIVAL
will present the World Premiere of the movie

in CGI 3D

at the NOKIA THEATRE L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles (777 Chick Hearn Ct., L.A. CA 90015) on Sunday, June 27. The movie will serve as the Closing Night Film for the ongoing Los Angeles Film Festival 2010.

Director Chris Renaud, together with writers Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, producers Chris Meledandri, Janet Healy and John Cohen, composer Pharrell Williams, with cast members Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Danny McBride, Jack McBrayer, Mindy Kaling, Dana Gaier, Elsie Fisher and Julie Andrews; Film Independent Executive Director Dawn Hudson; Los Angeles Film Festival Director Rebecca Yeldham; and Los Angeles Film Festival Artistic Director David Ansen.

About the film: One of the world’s greatest super-villains, Gru (voiced by Steve Carell), is planning the biggest heist in the history of the world: to steal the moon (Yes, the moon!) in Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s Despicable Me. Surrounded by an army of mischievous little minions and armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays and battle-ready vehicles, Gru vanquishes all who stand in his way. That is, until the day he encounters the immense will of three little girls who look at him and see something that no one else has: a potential Dad.

Despicable Me opens nationwide in Real D 3D on July 9, 2010.
