(Los Angeles, CA - Friday, October 31, 2014) - Philippines’ Fil-Aussie actress Anne Curtis-Smith was feeling overwhelmed walking in a red-collared Valentino black cocktail dress at last Tuesday’s red carpet Premiere of her first Hollywood indie romantic vampire film “Blood Ransom” held at Arclight Cinemas on Sunset Blvd.

Cast members who attended the U.S. Premiere include "Darling of the Philippines" herself - Anne Curtis-Smith together with her romantic lead in the movie - Alexander Dreymon, Caleb Hunt, Darion and Dion Basco, Vanessa Evigan accompanied by sister Briana Evigan (Step Up 2, Step Up: All In, Love Is All You Need?) with dad Greg Evigan (My Two Dads, BJ and the Bear), Sven Holmberg, Sam J. Warner, Jon Jon Briones, Alli Crepe, the movie's Cinematographer- Jasmin Khun, producer Albert Chang, and director/co-producer of the film, Francis de la Torre.

American Idol runner-up from Season 11- Jessica Sanchez, also took her time out to walk the red carpet and watch the movie to support her fellow Filipina, Curtis-Smith. Other invited guests include youtube singing sensation A.J. Raphael, fashion designer Alan del Rosario, Dante Basco, Edelyn Okano (producer, actress, host of the tv series “Kapalaran”), former Pinoy Teen Big Brother alumni Ivan Dorschner (now based in L.A. pursuing a Hollywood career), Jenilee Reyes (producer/writer), Julianne Manalo (X-Factor, The Voice) with actor/writer/producer Nicholas Massa, prized Filipino UCLA basketball recruit Kobe Paras, and producer/actor Rembrandt Sabelis, among others. Publicist Ted Benito and Rembrandt Flores (EFG PR) manned the red carpet and the “by-invitation-only” list.

Television-host and actress Anne Curtis-Smith arrived last weekend from Manila already doing rounds of interviews to promote the film she shot in 26 days two years ago. At the press conference last Monday arranged by Ana Puno’s Starmedia Entertainment Group and held at Noypitz Club & Restaurant in Glendale, her cast members were asked how is it working with the pretty actress, they were almost unanimous to praise her work ethics and good camaraderie. Caleb Hunt said of their lead actress -- “What’s impressive to me about Anne is I’ve never seen a person juggle things at the same time effectively .. I’ve never seen someone who works harder and with grace and be more humble about it... I mean if I work as hard as her, I don’t think I would have friends (laughs)! She was really impressive and incredible .. when you round her energy it inspires you to get back and it creates better relationships!

Fil-Am actor Dion Basco who plays Detective Oliver added -- “It was terrific! You can totally tell why she is a star .. it’s not because she’s pretty .. we worked late hours and have some intense scenes and she’s totally focused .. you can see the desire in her to do very well in this film. I can feel what this meant to her. There’s a lot of love on the set.”

When asked if this movie is an indication of her doing more international films and if she is willing to leave her career in Manila once there is a sure offer for her to stay in the U.S. for a Hollywood career, Curtis-Smith quipped, “Wow, ang hirap naman ng question! (“This is a hard question!) .. “It’s really hard to say .. I’ve done almost everything in the Philippines -- from doing concerts and creating an album, tv hosting and tele-seryes -- I would love to audition and try out in Hollywood but I know how I’ve worked so hard to where I am right now and it was not done overnight .. it’s a big “I don’t know! ... we’ll see .. but one thing I know for sure is that at the end of the day I’ll still go back to the Philippines!”

Fil-Am director and writer Francis de la Torre is best known from “Subject: I Love You,” a movie he directed in 2011 about a destructive computer virus -- the movie that had its round in different film festivals, including the Newport Beach Film Festival where the star of the film, another Filipino actor, Jericho Rosales, won the Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking Acting Award. De la Torre hopes that with the popularity of his main lead, the movie will become a box-office hit. "We aim to continue producing and collaborate with Filipino talents and bring them into the international Hollywood market," he said.

A social media icon and a trendsetter herself (she has 7.31 million Twitter followers), Curtis-Smith hopes that all her fans would support her movie which will have its regular screenings across the U.S. including theaters in Los Angeles and New York starting today, Friday, October 31st.

Curtis-Smith is scheduled to have a “Meet & Greet” with fans this Saturday, November 1 at the Pacific Theater at The Americana at Brand in Glendale, California.
