Fil-Am Director Q. Allan Brocka returns 2006 fan-favorite film “Boy Culture” into a brand new series in “Boy Culture: The Series” which will have a World Premiere August 19 at Outfest 2021 and will also play at FilmOut San Diego (Saturday, September 11 at 7:15 p.m.)

By Oliver Carnay

“Boy Culture 2” is a brand new series based on the smash gay film, “Boy Culture” created by Matthew Rettenmund with director Q. Allan Brocka back at the helm. Using the same actors from the original film from 2006, this series returns after 15 years since the fan-favorite movie takes place. The actors returning are Derek Magyar as X, and Darryl Stephens as Andrew, with series newcomer Jason Caceres-Lopez as Chayce.

Derek Magyar returns as X, still working hard as an escort for hire. But in 2021, he’s up against a younger generation, personified by hustler-turned-pimp Chayce (Jason Caceres), who have gained a competitive edge on the market in the digital age. As X struggles to keep his aging body fit, and his unusual roster of kinky clients happy, he’s also dealing with the realities of still living with Andrew (Darryl Stephens) — now his ex — who’s aiming to move on from their former romantic entanglements.
