Outfest 2018 (July 12-22) opens with Kino Lorber’s “Studio 54” directed by Matt Tyrnauer

Hollywood, CA – (June 20, 2018) Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival is eleven days of not to be missed world-class films, panels, and parties. Each summer Outfest Los Angeles screens more than 150 feature and short films to an audience of more than 40,000 people. Outfest Los Angeles is the oldest film festival in Los Angeles and is considered the preeminent LGBTQ film festival in the world.
Celebrating its 36th Anniversary, Outfest – the Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization promoting equality by creating, sharing, and protecting LGBTQ stories on the screen has announced the complete programming lineup for the 2018 Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival presented by HBO. The nation’s leading LGBTQ festival will be held July 12-22, 2018.
Outfest Opening Night film – “Studio 54” trailer
Opening Night Film to be held at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown, Los Angeles is Kino Lorber’s “Studio 54,” Matt Tyrnauer’s vibrantly nostalgic documentary, while FilmRise’s “The Miseducation of Cameron Post,” Desiree Akhavan’s Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner starring Chloë Grace Moretz will serve as the Closing Night film.
OutSet: The Young Filmmakers Project from Los Angeles LGBT Center and Outfest, will be premiering five new shorts on Sunday, July 22nd. Now in its sixth year, the OutSet program empowers youth ages 16-24 to share their stories though film.
Tickets and Information
Outfest members receive benefits such as free tickets, priority entrance to screenings or all-access passes. Tickets were on sale to members and has started since Thursday, June 14. General admission tickets to individual films go began on sale since Monday, June 18.
