(Hollywood, CA – November 28, 2022)  Philippines’ Queen of Comedy Ms. Ai-Ai de las Alas together with Comedian cum Talent Manager and Vlogger/ Influencer Mr. Ogie Diaz are some of the top awardees at the 3rd Annual AmerAsian International Awards Night held on November 26, 2022, at Celebrity Centre International on Franklin Ave. in Hollywood, California.

The Comedy Queen, who received the “Undisputed Comedy Queen Award” wasn’t able to attend as she wasn’t feeling well.  Her son Nicolo accepted the award on her behalf after a taped acceptance speech.

Talent Manager, comedian and influencer Ogie Diaz received the award for “2022 Most Outstanding Vlogger of the Year” for the phenomenal success of his “Ogie Diaz” channel and the “Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update” which is currently the number one, if not, the main source of online first rate entertainment news in showbiz industry.  Mr. Diaz missed accepting his award in person as he just left for Manila days before the awarding.  (This author accepted the award on his behalf).

A big surprise of the evening was the performance of former actress and singer Ms. Carina Afable.  She sang “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” with a tagalog twist.  She was accompanied by well-known musical director Mr. Alex Lagman (who is also an awardee that night).  Ms. Afable received the “Hall of Fame in the Music Industry” award.

Former GMA 7 “The Clash” winner Golden Canedo sang two songs, belting out high notes with songs “Never Enough” and “All By Myself” to the delight of the audience and received the award for “Most Promising Concert Artist.”

Former matinee idol Gabby Concepcion wasn’t able to receive his award for “Actor of the Year” being one of the busiest actors in the Philippines, and now is doing several singing stints in the United States.  He just had a successful singing gig at Bamboo Bistro in North Hollywood, CA.

In a rare public appearance, former award-winning actor in the Philippines (best known winning the award for Best Actor in the movie “Ina Ka Ng Anak Mo” in 1979 at the Metro Manila Film Festival, and was also nominated for Best Actor for Gawad Urian Awards) Mr. Raul Aragon was given an award for “Lifetime Achievement Award for TV and Film”.

Other highlights of the evening was when L.A. ‘s “Prince of Pop” Mr. Garth Garcia serenaded some of the Fil-Am Fashion and Beauty titleholders before accepting his award for “2022 Most Outstanding Entertainer of the Year”.  Garth Garcia is the busiest artist in the U.S. having had the most concerts visible in all parts of the U.S..  He is currently busy releasing a song with Jaya.

The 3rd Annual AmerAsia International Awards Night was executive produced by veteran producer and former talent manager Mr. Alfred Yumul, directed by Jet Montelibano, and hosted by Christian Ylagan, Jules Graeser and Bryan Termulo (who later received the award for “Most Outstanding International Recording Artist of the Year”.
