‘MALLARI,’ the first film picked up from MIFF 2024 by Warner Bros. Company for major mainstream distribution (U.S. and Canada), in cooperation with Star Cinema; to be released late February

Manila International Film Festival Highlights and Sidelights DAY-4


At the ‘MALLARI’ Q&A after the afternoon screening, producer John Bryan D. Diamante announced that the film was picked up by Warner Bros. for major theatre distribution in the U.S. and Canada, in cooperation with Star Cinema, Inc..  It may be released late February.

An added screening for “GOMBURZA” (two screenings for Day 4) where actors Piolo Pascual, Enchong Dee, Cinematographer Carlo Canlas Mendoza, Director Pepe Diokno, and finally actor Cedrick Juan joined them for the first time.  The 4:30 pm was sold out!  Check out what Piolo and the cast answered, when asked why they thought there was a clamor from Los Angeles crowd to watch GOMBURZA:

At the “MMDA Mayor’s Mixer” held at the VIP Lounge of the TCL Chinese Theatres 6 upstairs, among the stars present were Eugene Domingo, Director Joey Reyes, Ysabel Ortega, Madam Boots Anson Roa-Rodrigo, Tirso Cruz III, Alden Richards, Dingdong Dantes, John Arcilla, among others.  Stars, filmmakers, talk with with the MMDA, Metro Manila Council and the Mayors about the amusement tax for local films for 3 years and the ease of doing business.

Dingdong Dantes was teary eyed during the screening of “Firefly” as he cannot believe how great the film was after the finished product.  

One of the most anticipated screenings during the festival was “Family of Two,” as Alden Richards’ fans were very eager to see their idol.
